Spending my days in New York, I realized something great about this city. Just like Singapore, it's a metropolis. In fact, I have met more people from around the world during my stay here than in any other place. What does a citizen of the United States look like? I can't tell you. Why? Because they come in all colors, shapes and sizes.

When I am served as a customer, I am addressed as "sir". Regardless of how I dress or where I am. This brings me back to Singapore. There have been numerous encounters of service staff greeting a Caucasian person with the line "Hi Sir, what would you like?" This is GREAT! Now, when we meet a customer who is of our OWN race or a race which is not Caucasian, the greeting shall (instead of a reverse nod) be as follows, "Hi Sir, what would you like?" These two lines are exactly the same. Why? BECAUSE WE ARE THE SAME. We are equal.

Who is a Sir/Madam? YOU are, I am, we ALL are. Why? Because we are all people and we should all be respected. Thank you to all those service staff who practice equality. Thank you so much.

I truly believe when we learn to respect our own race as well as others and love one another for our differences, THAT makes us a developed country.
